ACS Logistics Asten – Spatial quality between focus, encounter, and architectural attitude

An environment that promotes both concentration and interaction was to be created for around 85 employees on 1,800 m². In addition to small focus rooms, spacious communication zones were created on all floors. The heart of the space is the Working Café—clearly visible from the entrance and deliberately designed as a central, lively hub: a place to eat, work, and celebrate, which strengthens teamwork and reflects the company's identity.

A staircase as a connecting element

The staircase has been transformed into an attractive architectural highlight. An open stairwell and unobstructed views across all levels connect the building vertically. This spaciousness is enhanced by a light and acoustic band that extends from the ground floor to the top. Lighting and acoustically effective surfaces have been cleverly combined to harmonize atmosphere and function.

Color families for orientation

The two upper floors were each given their own color scheme, which extends from the galley through the communication areas to the meeting rooms, where it is deliberately used in bold ways on the floors, walls, and furniture. The floors are connected by large-format terrazzo tiles, which tie the entire material and color concept together.

The office areas were deliberately designed to be understated: earthy brown tones, black, and natural materials characterize the atmosphere. A particularly distinctive feature is the colored ceiling above the felt baffles, which lends the rooms depth and a sense of high quality.

Technical challenges as an opportunity

The concrete core-activated ceiling required innovative acoustic solutions: felt baffles and selectively suspended ceiling panels ensure balanced acoustics with minimal interference with the building services.

ÖGNI certification

The choice of materials and installation processes were precisely coordinated for ÖGNI certification—sustainability was a central component of the project from the outset.
